Congratulations to our Certified Banquet Captains in San Antonio

Please join us in congratulating our two new Certified Banquet Captains at our San Antonio facility. Their hard work and dedication to customer service are dividends paid to our clients. Norris Centers is delighted to have them on our team.

Maricela Diaz (middle right in photo above) joined the Norris team in 2014.  It was immediately apparent to our local leadership that Maricela had a creative touch when it comes to setting up themed buffets for events. Maricela continues to wow our San Antonio clients with beautiful food and beverage displays and always supplying strong leadership for our serving staff.

Bobby Vermeulen (middle left in photo above) came to us from a well-known  San Antonio caterer in 2016.  Bobby’s previous experience and his passion for the hospitality industry has paid dividends to the success at our San Antonio location.  Bobby finds great pleasure in training the service crew and executing flawless events.  Bobby played a significant role in the development of our Banquet Captain Certification program and deserves credit for his contribution.

What is a Norris Certified Banquet Captain?

Norris Conference Centers has implemented a training program across it’s five Texas locations for all Banquet Captains. The goal of the program is to reinforce and improve the core skills every Banquet Captain needs to be successful. After completion, the Banquet Captain becomes Norris certified and can fully implement the Norris standards of service. The certification program includes a customized training video, the Banquet Captain Study Guide, supervised and evaluated training shifts, and corresponding written tests.
